Mueller Failed, Completely

If the point of Mueller’s testimony was to prove that Trump is an unethical asshole, great. I’m sure you found his testimony to be worth it.

However, that’s not what Mueller was appointed Special Counsel to do an “investigation” on. He was appointed to investigate Russian GOVERNMENT interference in the 2016 election. (Kindly note that this should have completely eliminated anything that occurred AFTER the election, while his report is nearly 1/4 refers to events after the election was over.)

His testimony went exactly the way I expected and openly predicted it would. He referred back to his report with nearly every response. “That’s included in the report.” He had to do this because of the decision by a federal judge that he could not refer to a Russian internet advertising agency as being part of or attached to the Russian government. Yes, you can call it a troll farm if you like but then you have to compare it to the behavior of American advertising agencies who act in very similar ways. I hate all of them, so I don’t care what term you use.

Most of the Democrat “questions” were yes or no vague questions or fawning praise of Mueller over nothing.

Mueller made such vague statements as saying Trump could be indicted after he leaves office. Let me once again clarify that an indictment is an accusation, not a conviction. As one NY state prosecutor once said, “I could indict a ham sandwich.” His meaning was that an indictment means exactly nothing. With our grand jury system (reference Chelsea Manning’s statements on that), anyone can be indicted at any time for any thing. So Mueller’s statement means nothing.

According to a count by NBC, Mueller diverted or refused to answer questions a whopping 198 timesKeep in mind that NBC is the most hyped-up Russiagate propaganda farm you can imagine. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has devoted nearly every minute of every show for nearly three years to spinning this poorly spun fiction.

One thing he absolutely refused to answer was why he did not indict or charge specific people, like the professor which the source of the claims against Papadopoulos, which was prominent in the Mueller report. Steele Dossier? Refused to answer.

Mueller repeatedly claimed that issues with his report were “not in his purview”. Yes, it was all absolutely in the purview of his “investigation”. If it was included in his report, it was his responsibility to look into the accuracy of what was presented in that report! If you were being investigated for murder, would it not be the responsibility of the investigator to look into the accuracy of the witness’s statements? That’s part of the damn judicial process!!!

Some people are claiming that the line of “questioning” (mostly soap boxing propaganda) by Adam (pile of) Schiff actually means something. Listen to it again if you need to. It is nothing but vague supposition and innuendo. It contains no specifics in the questioning or answers. It appears pre-planned and staged. It is nothing but a string of “if”, “could”, “would this be acceptable” statements.

Mueller also referred to the Office of Legal Counsel determination that a sitting president could not be charged with a crime, inferring but not stating that was why he did not charge Trump with a crime. Later in teh day he recanted that and referred back to his report and May 29th statement, saying he never came to the determination whether Trump did or did not commit a crime. So, he spent two years coming to the determination to not come to a determination. No, it was not his job to charge Trump with a crime but it WAS his job to determine of a crime had been committed. What that amounts to is Mueller saying he did not do the one single thing he was supposed to do- make a decision!

For what was displayed today, we did not need a two year, $30 million (very conservative estimate) “investigation” which revealed nothing but standard DC corruption, mostly relating to Israel, Ukraine, Turkey and tax evasion.

Do we need to eliminate foreign money and influence in our elections and which influence elected officials? Yes. Let’s talk about AIPAC. Let’s talk about the Clinton Global Initiative, which raked in $billions while HRC was SoS and while she was running for office. Let’s talk about Uranium One, which Mueller himself approved the “intelligence” on, which HRC approved and where Bill got paid $500,000 for a speech to a Russian investment agency.

Do we need to eliminate foreign influence in our government in general? Absolutely. See the above. We also need to eliminate corporate money in our government. We also need to stop screwing with the governments and societies of other nations, which means shutting down most of the CIA. We need federally funded elections with equal funding for the top 4 parties. We need to eliminate corporate PACs. We need to make corporate lobbying a criminal offense with mandatory prison time. We need paper ballots. We need Ranked Choice Voting. We need open primaries and open debates. We need to execute.. okay, eliminate superdelegates.

What we do not need is Mueller and this Russia garbage. Like it or not, this is the end of Muellergate and all of Russiagate. Not a doubt you will keep hearing about it for a few days but resign yourself to this being over.

Now, can we get back to discussing actual issues and policies? You can absolutely doubt that because it’s not going to happen.

Russiagate Is More Dangerous Than Trump

For all the people still pushing, still believing the Russiagate hoax, even if you think there is anything to it, listen for once.

Yes, Trump sucks. Yes, he is dangerous (mostly for the power given him and renewed by both parties). He is unstable, crude and idiotic. He is helping to destroy the economy but did not do it on his own. You do remember why we were fighting for change in 2016, right? And 2012? And 2008? Remember the Obama promise of hope and change which never materialized?

Yet when it comes to international risk of warfare, Trump faces no “resistance”. No matter how lame or crooked his attempts at peace have been, they have been stronger attempts at peace than any administration in decades. It has been his peace efforts which have gotten actual resistance, pushing for conflict with Russia, maintaining tensions or worsening tensions with North Korea. When he bombed Syria, corporate media called him “presidential” and not a single opposing word was heard from Democrats. When he increased troops on the Russian border and sea lanes, complete silence. When he increased military presence in the South China Sea, he had complete support from both parties. When he imposed sanctions and talked about invading Venezuela, he again had complete support with no opposition.

The thing you absolutely must understand is that no matter what he has done or not done, Russiagate is still more dangerous than all of his actions/inactions or twitter tirades combined.

When you push the Russiagate propaganda, you are pushing ideas mostly created and endorsed by weapons manufacturers. In other words, warmongers. You are enabling this. Russiagate is the primary rationale for the never-ending increases in “defense” spending. You are doing this. Stop blaming anyone else.

Russiagate has led to increases in “defense” spending of more than $30 billion in the last two years, with another increase planned for next year. That’s just the increase. It is also what Obama used as a rationale for authorizing upgrading nuclear weapons at an estimate in 2016 of $1 trillion over 10 years. That’s $100 billion per year and it’s NOT included in the “defense” budget. In addition, in the 2 years since he signed that authorization, the cost estimate has already increased by $300 billion.

However, that’s not enough. Once that spending is increased, if the DoD does not use it for the intended purpose, they find other ways to justify having that large of a budget. That’s why we see increased military tensions with China, Iran, Venezuela and more. If they cannot justify invading and bombing Russia, they will divert your attention to other countries and keep right on spending your money, keep driving up the debt.

All that military spending is ripped from social programs while helping the non-stop drive toward the economic failure of this country. We keep printing money which dilutes the value of the dollar. We keep taking money from social programs which actually help the economy. Money is diverted year after year away from infrastructure repair and improvement.

I have made the statement many times and repeat it again. You endorse the idea of Medicare For All. Universal healthcare will not mean squat if your are a pile of radioactive ash.

However, let’s expand on this idea. If we suffer a nuclear war, how much good will increased wages be? Election reform? Higher taxes on the rich? Will any of that matter if our cities are in ruins, millions dead or dying and the rest have radiation poisoning? What are your environmental concerns worth at that point?

I know. You think I am exaggerating. I respond with saying you are complacent and naive.

Economics is not the only way in which Russiagate is dangerous and damaging. It has led to censorship of social media. I’ve shared many articles which have been removed from FB. Social media has censored nearly all anti-war voices. Nearly all voices bringing attention to police abuse. They label it as “Russian propaganda” and simply erase it and sometimes block the account. MSM pundits have actually used responses in interviews, accusing people who oppose the narrative of being Russian agents/trolls, etc.

Is this what you want? Do you want to go back to 1956 McCarthyism? Because that’s what you are promoting.

If you want changes, then focus on the policies which promote those changes. That is the only “resistance” which matters or will have any effect. Even if Russiagate were proven completely true today, would that change a single policy? Would it end a single conflict? Would it reduce military spending? Would it expand access to healthcare? The answer is NO.

So, now it is time for you to think about what you are doing. What changes do you want to see in this country? What are you personally doing to enact those changes? Are you doing more good or more harm by keeping this absolute BULLSHIT narrative going?

If you are not part of the solution, then YOU are the problem.

Why Trump is NOT Guilty of Obstruction of Justice

The focus since the Mueller report came out is claiming Trump in some way obstructed justice. Just as the Mueller investigation was seeking “collusion”, now they are seeking “obstruction”.

Legally speaking, this will not work. If you think it will, you have been propagandized and know nothing about the law.

For a person to be guilty of obstructing a criminal investigation, the very first criteria for that charge would be that a known crime had been committed. This is not the case in the Mueller probe. The entire point of the Mueller probe was an investigation in search of a crime.

I have pointed out on numerous occasions that there was never a known crime which sparked the Mueller probe. There were claims by biased FBI agents and the DNC. There was no evidence. Since the Mueller probe began, several FBI agents were forced to resign or were fired in disgrace. Including Strzok, who was fired from the Mueller probe first and later from the FBI itself. And if you think his infantile display was in any way heroic, there’s something seriously wrong in your head. He was defending the illegal obtaining of FISA warrants under false pretenses and the right to do so. Is that really what you want our federal government to be doing? What if it were turned around and used on someone you liked? Would your view be the same?

Here I will point out something else I have repeatedly pointed out before- The DNC is not a government agency. It is a private organization. They used that defense in court when accused of fraud. The FBI never examined the DNC servers. Neither did any of three “investigations”- House, Senate and Special Counsel. All claims relied on information from Crowdstrike, a private IT firm hired and paid for by the DNC. A firm that has been discredited on numerous occasions, including for the claim that Russia hacked artillery in Ukraine. The shame was revealed when the Ukrainian government said there was no truth to it.

It has been proven that the FISA warrants relied almost entirely on the Steele Dossier, which was paid for by the DNC and then paid for more by the FBI with your tax dollars. Nothing in the dossier was ever verified and therefore is not evidence of anything except for DNC collusion with a foreign agent who was working with Russian government insiders (in other words, the Kremlin) to obtain information damaging to a presidential candidate at the time. Money changed hands. We know this. It is documented. By Mueller. The FISA warrants were falsely obtained. We know this. It is documented. By Mueller. The alleged information was intended to help one candidate, Hillary. We know this. It is documented. By Mueller.

Still want the unredacted Mueller report released? I do. I want every last scrap of evidence, every document, every interview released. Not just the 400 page summary. I want all of it.

In addition, Trump never stopped Mueller from investigating. We endured 18 months of claims that trump would fire Mueller. He never did, never said he would, never said he had any such intent. We had theatrics of numerous petitions to “save Mueller”. We had theatrics of the Democrats claiming to “defend Mueller”. Defend him from things which there was no danger of occurring.

Now the Mueller report states that there is no evidence of collusion. You would think it would end there but no.

What we have is the DNC trying to claim Trump obstructed a probe which he did not obstruct into a nonexistent crime which never happened into claims he committed acts which that very probe exonerate him of.

Basically this is the equivalent of charging a person for resisting arrest when they are being arrested for a crime which never happened, that there was no evidence for and while they were not resisting. Just because someone wants them charged with something.

Last thing I will repeat yet again. None of this means I support Trump. I do not and never have. I am not defending Trump, I am defending justice, itself. I am fully cognizant of how these tactics being used against him can be turned around and used in reverse.

I am also fully aware that this entire show is intended to distract from the fact that the DNC is just as right wing as the RNC. They are both slaves to corporate power and are not opposing anything the Republicans are doing to strip us of our rights. The Dems use nicer words while conducting the exact same atrocities.

You want to “Resist”? Then get off your tail, start getting informed and start calling elected officials, writing letters and attending protests to demand Progressive policies. Universal healthcare, increased wages, UBI, ending wars, humanistic immigration reform, increasing taxes on the rich, universal adult education, increased education funding, closing down charter schools, fighting systemic prejudice, breaking up big banks, restore Glass-Steagall, police reform and on and on and on… Those things would be defending your country. Those things would be patriotic. Those things would be rational. Those things would be enduring.

What you are doing to push this Russiagate/Obstruction BS is not going to help us. It is not going to help anyone but the power elite. If you think the media has your interests at heart, you’re dead wrong. If they win this, they have proven they can manipulate you. Turn off corporate media.

If you are not part of the solution, then you are the problem.

What Would Russia Gain From Election Interference?

This is something I have covered before but it is worth reviewing again seeing that the Mueller investigation has ended. No Trump/Russia “collusion” was found, yet even Mueller keeps touting the story that Russia somehow interfered in the 2016 election.

Let’s remember here that Mueller is also one of those who claimed that there were WMD’s in Iraq, testifying before CONgress to that effect. It is obvious that he is a nationalist who supports the concept of the American Empire and will advance any idea which promotes that concept.

The only evidence of any Russian “interference” has involved a handful of internet trolls who were not advancing any specific candidate at all but scamming for money. Even that they did poorly. The amount of money they spent was roughly $100,000, half of which was after the election. They promoted Bernie coloring books, organized a rally for Hillary to which 8 people and a dog showed up (about on par for a Hillary rally, really) and a large percentage of their ads or posts had nothing to do with any candidate. This amount of money was spent in an election where just the top final 2 candidates spent nearly $2 billion. To put this in perspective, for every $1 spent by the internet trolls, the 2 candidates spent $2000. And that does not even count how much was spent by PACs in favor of those candidates.Plus consider that the internet trolls had no actual connection to the Russian government.

Mueller filed charges against the trolls in federal court. What he did not expect was that they had legal representation show up for the case. When the defense lawyers requested discovery of evidence, Mueller’s team attempted to refuse, claiming the information being used against the defendants was classified. The judge ruled against Mueller’s team, stating discovery was mandatory. This would be tantamount to a kangaroo court.

“How do you respond to the charges against you?”

What are the charges?

“You’re not allowed to know that! Now, how do you respond?”

I really don’t know.

“We have evidence!”

What evidence?

“You’re not allowed to know that!”

That was the last I heard of that case. It’s obvious no convictions have been obtained because it would have been front page on every MSM source the same day and still promoted today as Mueller has ended his probe.

None of that is the main point I am getting to here. The main point is that Russia has had nothing to gain by interfering in our election. Russiagaters from top to bottom use vague accusations and common arguments which hold no water at all. Such as:

Ending sanctions. No country wants sanctions which limit their trade. However, the sanctions which have been levied against Russia have done more harm to prior trading partners with Russia than they have to Russia. In the process of dealing with sanctions, Russia has developed industries which were not well developed in their country before the sanctions. They are now a leading oil and gas producer and the world’s largest grain exporter. All non-GMO.

To expand trade. Russia has been expanding trade for years. They have signed trade agreements with Japan, China, Europe and South American countries. The EU is primarily in favor of buying oil and gas from Russia, rather than paying higher prices for US oil and gas, which would be a less secure supply in certain seasons. Tankers can’t sail when there are massive storms in the Atlantic. Russia solves that problem with pipelines running directly into Germany.

To benefit their economy. Along with expanding trade, Russia has managed their economy far better than the US has in recent years. Their debt to GDP is less than 14%, our is currently 108% and rising. Think of debt to GDP as a ratio of household debt to income, the higher the number, the worse off you are. Russia has announced a budget surplus for the past two years and paid off the last of their national debt in 2017. Compare that to our $22 trillion national debt, which is the highest of any nation in history and accounts for over 1/3 of all global debt.

It is the US trying to benefit our economy by political, economic and military force. This is largely to preserve the petrodollar system which is failing as more countries continue turning away from the dollar. Other countries were once forced to convert their own currency into US dollars to purchase oil anywhere in the world. Now oil is being bought and sold in Chinese Yuan, Euros and Rubles. Other countries are also selling off US Treasury bonds but there is no way to force countries to purchase those. If it were possible, you could count on our government threatening an invasion of various countries.

For military dominance. Russia has 8 military bases outside of their own country. The US has at least 800. That’s a ratio of 100:1. Russia spends less than 6% of what the US does on military budgeting.

I have also pointed out on numerous occasions that our official military budget is an illusion. If it were accurate, it would include funding for CIA, NSA, FBI, upgrading existing nukes and VA funding. When you add those to the official US military budget, we spend more on “defense” than every other country on earth combined.

Guess which country has universal healthcare and which does not?

To sow discord. Really? Really? You’ve been watching too much reality TV. You also have not been paying any attention to what has been happening in this country for decades. Even if there were any truth to this, other countries did not create the problems in the US. Our problems have been here for years, decades, even centuries. Income inequality, poverty, racism, sexism, religious prejudice, poor public education, lack of access to healthcare and on and on. By discussing these issues, we have a chance of doing something about the problems instead of denying they exist. If you think we had unity before Trump came along, you’ve had your head up your ass so long you have no idea what sunlight looks like. Now try and explain to me exactly how it profits Russia to sow discord in our society. For them to get us to focus on our own problems and give us the opposrtunity to DO something about those problems? How the HELL does Russia benefit from that?!!!

So where does any of this go? If the Russiagate frenzy continues, where do you expect it to lead? Does it fix any of the real problems we have in this country? Does it offer any chance of world peace? Does it lead to decreased military spending by the US? Does it increase wages? Improve our economy? Fix our election system? Or does it continue on a path to warfare with multiple nuclear powers? More military spending? More conflict with allies? More resources stripped away from social support programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security?

Think for yourself. Stop thinking in terms of your addiction to hate, fear, anger and ignorance. The media does nothing but act as the advertising wing of the military industrial complex (MIC). Mueller acts as a spokesperson for the MIC. Rachel Maddow gets paid $30,000 a day to promote war, nothing else. Turn off network and cable news. Stop paying attention to all corporate news sources. Stop looking for a boogeyman under your bed and start paying attention to what is really happening.

If you are not part of the solution, then you are the problem.

Mueller Probe Is Over!! Now, Let’s Talk About Julian Assange

The Mueller probe is finally at an end. Predictably, it comes to nothing related to the special counsel powers granted to Mueller in the first place.

Contrary to the beliefs of rabid Russiagaters, no convictions have resulted from anything related to any “Russian collusion”. Every conviction has been related to regular DC corruption. Lobbying, tax fraud and lying. In some cases, the lies were told after the election. Many of the indictments were pure theater, which I pointed out at the time. Seriously? Indicting Intelligence officials of another country in US court while refusing to divulge “evidence”? How was that anything but theater?

Original authorization. If you ever actually read the authorization which enacted the special counsel, you would know it was biased in the wording from the very beginning. It specifically states authorization to investigate “any links and/or coordination bet ween the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump”. Notice that it precludes any connection to any other candidate.

I’m not going back over the whole process. It’s over and not worth it. It’s just more than a little interesting that the Clintons made money directly from Uranium One, which directly implicated Mueller and handed 20% of uranium processing to Russian interests. Uranium One was also proven to involve bribery, coercion, unaccounted for uranium shipments and more. While Mueller signed off on the intelligence approval required for Uranium One.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Declassification. Now the Democrats are calling for the full declassification of the Mueller report. More than a little amusing, since it was the Democrats who opposed the release and declassification of the text messages between FBI officials which revealed bias in the FBI investigation.

I am fully in favor of the declassification and release of the full report with all supporting documents and video/voice recordings. No FOIA requests necessary, release it for everyone globally to download and access. Allow independent media to examine the whole thing.

Mueller now crucified. For the last two years we have listened to MSM and centrist neoliberals screaming, “Wait for the Mueller report!” and “Protect Mueller! Don’t let Trump fire Mueller!” Now that Mueller has released his report, the cries have changed to accusing Mueller, claiming Mueller has been compromised by Russia. So Saint Mueller has now become a demon in their eyes.

More investigations. We already had a House investigation and a Senate investigation and each one came to the conclusion that there was no evidence of Trump/Russia “collusion”. Keep in mind that the Mueller investigation examined the FBI investigation into this subject. Not long ago I noted that the Democrats, before the Mueller report was even released, announced 17 investigations into the information contained in the Mueller report! So what happens when those 17 “investigations” do not come up with the results they want? Will we then accuse everyone involved in every one of those investigations? So, will we have investigations into each of the 17 investigations which investigated the Mueller investigation which investigated the FBI investigation?

Russiagate is not benign. I wrote a piece not long ago about how harmful Russiagate has been. You can read the long version here. In brief, Russiagate has led to a massive $100 billion increase in defense spending in just two years. It has led to censorship of independent media, which has been basically the only media contradicting the Russia narrative, especially on the left. In all cases, any anti-war voices have been demonized and attacked. It has led to increased US military presence on the Russian border and attempts to block Russian shipping routes. It has led to false accusations against any candidates who promote Progressive policies such as Medicare For All, decreasing military spending, ending wars or supporting Black Lives Matter as being Russian stooges/agents/trolls..

Nothing but a diversion. The effect of Russiagate on the functioning of our government has been tragic. So much effort and rhetoric has been exerted pushing Russiagate that virtually nothing else has been done. If elected officials are spending all their time on this, not talking about anything else, accusing anyone who opposes their narrative of being a Russian troll, what gets done? Or rather, what gets done that we want done?

No electoral changes. Notice that with all the accusations of Russian interference, claims of hacking, etc that we have not seen any effective changes in our electoral process as a result? No mandatory paper trails. No changes in software or processes to eliminate chances of hacking. No changes to campaign finance. The few changes we have seen have the express purpose of insuring that the DNC favorite, the Establishment candidate for president will be the DNC nominee.

Julian Assange. For all the claims put forward by the DNC about Russian “interference” in our election, nothing stands out like the attacks on Julian Assange. The claims from day one have been that Assange colluded with Russia, who hacked the DNC servers. There has been no evidence at any point to this effect. No financial ties between Wikileaks and Russia have been demonstrated. Most importantly, none of the four “investigations” have ever directly examined or subpoenaed the DNC servers. The four “investigations” include FBI, House, Senate and special counsel. Every single one of them relied on information relayed by Crowdstrike, a firm hired and paid by the DNC. Crowdstrike has also been discredited on more than one occasion, including making the claim that Russia hacked artillery in Ukraine, which was refuted by the Ukrainian military. The big question here is, when does an “investigation” not look at the alleged crime scene? When does a criminal investigation rely entirely on “evidence” obtained by a private firm paid for by the accuser?

The DNC is not a government entity. The DNC is a private organization, not a government agency. They used that fact as a defense in court in the DNC Fraud lawsuit. This means their internal emails are not subject to FOIA requests. They can keep their emails and documents private forever. They are funded privately, they operate in any way they choose. They are not required to offer a fair primary process, even though taxpayers fund the primaries. In addition, because the DNC is a private organization, an attack on the DNC is NOT a risk to national security. There was absolutely NO information in any of the DNC emails which was or could be deemed classified by the US government. Information of private entities CANNOT be deemed classified. ESPECIALLY when it is handed off for management by a private company.

Hacking debunked. The alleged hacking of the DNC has been debunked by Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), a group of former government Intelligence professionals who have analyzed the data transfer rate and determined that it was too fast to have been transferred over any existing internet protocol. The data obtained in the DNC breach could only have been transferred locally to a storage device, such as a thumb drive. Which proves the DNC breach was an internal leak, not a hack.

Back to Assange. No, I did not go off on a tangent. This all comes together. The conclusion of the information above means several things.

1- Because the breach was an internal leak, not a hack, it shows Assange gained information from an American source internal to the DNC.

2- Because the DNC is a private organization, it means the government was not breached. Only an organization that considers itself not beholding to the democratic process, beyond questioning, beyond investigation, beyond criminal charges.

3- It should be obvious that Trump has no connection to Assange, as it has been revealed that it is the Trump DOJ which has a previously secret indictment of Assange, with collusion with the British government for extradition to the US for trial.

4- The internal leak information shows clearly that Wikileaks did not hack the DNC but obtained information from an external source.

5- None of the emails were debunked. The DNC tried claiming that the emails were fabricated. Tens of thousands of emails, with metadata included. Then claimed they were hacked. If someone were to fabricate emails, why would they bother to hack anything? The emails were real, they were accurate. They revealed what the DNC did to rig an election. Russia didn’t write the emails.

6- Because Obama, Hillary and Trump have all attacked Assange, it reveals that they are all on the same page. They fear transparency and will fight it by any means possible.

An attack on journalism. The attack on Assange is an attack on actual journalism. It is an attack on freedom of the press. It is an attack on whistle blowers. It is an attack on every single one of us. On our right to know what our government is doing. It is an attack on knowledge itself.

The end of the Mueller investigation should mean an end to the attacks on Assange. Though we know that is not going to happen. And we all suffer for it.

17 Investigations

Now that Mueller is winding down and it’s certain his report will not result in what they want, they have announced 17 more investigations regarding the information in the Mueller probe.

So this is literally 17 investigations into the Mueller investigation which looked into the FBI investigation. As a result, Mueller fired a top FBI official from his probe. The FBI official was subsequently fired from the FBI.

The FBI official then gave a speech which was widely defended in which he literally said the FBI could act with impunity in any way they choose, including to fabricate evidence. That’s really what he said, literally interpreted.

However, 17 is just the beginning. The day after midterms, the DNC said they have planned over 80 investigations on Trump.

Now the big question is, how many investigations will result from investigating the 17 investigations which are investigating the investigation that investigated an investigation.

Russiagate Is Not Benign

With the 2020 Democratic campaign ramping up, many voters and the media make it seem as though Russiagate is merely an electoral issue.

For years, the media has portrayed Russia as an aggressive threat while also portraying Russia as a weak power easily contained. Meanwhile, we are now in our 18th year in Afghanistan against the relatively poorly armed Taliban and 17th year in Iraq against terrorist factions with resources dwarfed by our own.

One thing to understand up front is that Russia and China are military alliesin an arrangement similar to NATO. If one is attacked, they will both respond. Something else our media does not make clear, so most Americans do not grasp.

The US currently has military bases and ships encircling both Russia and China in threatening postures, invading their territorial waters, in some cases attempting to block their shipping lanes. Meanwhile we are engaging in trade sanctions and tariffs meant to limit their trade options, even though our allies largely oppose US actions due to the increased cost and negative effects on their outgoing trade with Russia and China. Europe was trading with Russia, China and Iran before the US ever existed as proven through the archaeology and historical record.

At this point, the House already closed their Russia investigation last year, citing no evidence. The Senate investigation remains open but not for long, as they released a report also stating no evidence of Russian “collusion” regarding the election. Just don’t ask certain neoliberal sources who continue fabricating stories. Mueller is expected by all sources to close his investigation soon with no convictions related to the sole purpose he was granted special counsel authority. The indictments he has issued to that effect have been all theater which resulted in either no defendants (Russian Intelligence officials) ever expected to be in court or defendants having representation in court, which was hilarious! The 13 Russian internet trolls were not expected to have lawyers arrive for court but did. To which Mueller’s team attempted to deny discovery of evidence based on classification of evidence. The judge said that won’t work, discovery is mandatory. Nobody can be litigated without the right to see the evidence being used against them. That was the last I heard of that case.

If Saint Mueller issues his report with nothing directly against trump, the very people who have been screaming, “Just wait for Mueller!!” for two years will crucify the Saint. His investigation is not supposed to be about findingevidence, it is supposed to be about fabricating evidence. Though if that was what he were doing, he would have been finished long ago. Trust me, he’s done the best he could and not get busted.

Still, the worst things about Russiagate are the very real consequences which we have only begun to see the effects of. So far, those results have been non-violent compared to what they could have been.

We have seen confrontations between US and Russian military forces in Syria. Those would have wound up with a hot war if not for Russia’s restraint on the matters. We also saw Israel shoot down a Russian bomber, to which they did not respond militarily. Some claim this is a sign of cowardice. Since when is not wanting WWIII cowardice instead of sanity?

We have seen our very own independent media being censored with “Russia” being stated as a rationale. Much of the media censored was Progressive and anti-war media, such as Antiwar.com, Police The Police, the Ron Paul Liberty Report (Because we all know Ron Paul is a Russian stooge, right?), Reasonable People Unite, Counterpunch among others and temporary bans on Caitlyn Johnstone, Venezuelanalysis, Telesur and more. Do you really believe that neoliberal corporate media that works hand in hand with CONgress would not continue their censorship? Just wait until 2020, Mueller or no Mueller.

Immediately after the midterm elections, when the Democrats gained a House majority, they announced no less than 85 additional investigations regarding Trump. Investigations which did not exist before the election. Those “investigations” divert time, attention and resources which should be spent on governing this country. Between “investigations”, fundraising, campaigning, caucuses, primaries and conventions, how much governing do you expect to see before at least 2021? It’s already sounding like half the Democrats in CONgress eligible to run for president will be running.

Russiagate has resulted in the “defense” budget being increased by over $100 billion per year over the last two years. With another increase already planned for next year. To “defend” against a country that spends only 6% or less of our military budget for their military.

Since this debacle began, NATO has expanded further and further eastward to Russia’s doorstep. Then our government blew a gasket, calling it “Russian aggression” when they conducted their annual military war games without crossing outside their borders. Yet we are arming the Ukrainian military.

In addition, Colombia was offered membership in NATO. As a reminder, NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Tell me, what part of the North Atlantic does Colombia occupy?

Of course, the reason for that is that Russia and China have over $80 billion in trade investments in Venezuela, next door to Colombia. This is an attempt to bring all of NATO into the conflict if the US invades Venezuela to illegally seize that country’s oil, resulting in a direct confrontation with Russia and China, who would be defending Venezuelan sovereignty along with their own investments.

Now the US has withdrawn from the INF Treaty. You know, because that’s what Putin wanted. Sure. Now Russia has stated that if the US places intermediate range nuclear missiles on their border, they will place their own in international waters off our own borders. Only theirs are hypersonic and would have a flight time of merely seconds once launched to reach our shores. plus they are mobile, mounted on submarines and ships. Have fun targeting that.

So, keep considering Russiagate to be a harmless or inconvenient electoral issue that poses no threat, has no consequences. Go ahead and encourage the candidates who push this narrative. By no means should you hold them accountable for their words and actions. Donate money to show you approve of these risks.

What’s the worst that can happen?

Bern Your Progressive Card

This week Bernie Sanders announced his 2020 campaign run for president. Of course, millions of people jumped enthusiastically on board with no pause or consideration.

There is no way at this point that I can support Bernie. I know my views will be immensely unpopular but they are based on objective observation and rational thinking. I cannot base my political views or the future of this country and the planet on mere emotional response.

I give Bernie credit for his 2016 campaign and what it achieved for us. His campaign made Socialism an acceptable word for millions, after decades of indoctrination which made the word unspeakable in public. While the original ACA had suggested but never lived up to the promise of universal healthcare, Bernie’s campaign made it a dominating narrative which remains intact. He brought millions of us together who had felt isolated in our views. His campaign was the major impetus for the rise of independent media as a force to be reckoned with. New voices are being heard which would have been nearly silent otherwise.

However, it is time to move on from 2016 and face the current reality. This is a list of criticisms which cannot be denied as that reality.

Cult mindset. Of course, in true cult fashion they have since attacked anyone that does not fully support Bernie without question and if they cannot convert you, they unfriend you, block you, disown you, whatever. It doesn’t matter at all how progressive your views are, to them you are not a real Progressive unless you join the cult.

Is this sounding familiar? Is this sounding an awful lot like the Hillary campaign in 2016? Are they going to start telling us, “We don’t need you”?

Or how about, “Third parties can’t win”? That makes sense. Bernie is once again running under the DNC banner. Never mind that he is allegedly Independent. Never mind many of his claimed followers have been saying for over 2 years that we should not trust the DNC.

Donate to the DNC! Not only that but if you donate to Bernie, that donation will go through ActBlue, which is the fundraising entity of the DNC, so a percentage of each donation goes directly to the DNC and their authorized candidates. So if you give to Bernie, you are donating to Kamala Harris, Warren and maybe Biden. Have fun with that. BTW, that arrangement also means if you donate directly to his campaign and bypass ActBlue, Bernie is mandated to still pay the same percentage to the DNC. They’ve been at this a lot longer than you have and know every trick to look for.

Russiagate is being used against Bernie once again. However, that does not stop Bernie himself from pushing the Russiagate narrative still. I am making a prediction right here and now. Bernie pushing Russiagate will lose him more votes than it gains. He has pushed Russiagate to the point that he has accused his own 2016 followers of being Russian trolls or being brainwashed by Russian propaganda if they so much as questioned Hillary’s dedication to a Progressive agenda.

Danger. Russiagate comes with a long list of dangers inherent to it. Aside from the obvious risk of hot war with Russia, there is censorship. Russiagate has already been used as a rationale for corporate media to censor Progressive media. Over 600 Progressive pages were removed from Facebook and Twitter a few months ago, citing “Russia” as a rationale. Just recently, we saw In The Now blocked from Facebook and YouTube because they get part of their funding from RT.

The worst part of this is that, if Bernie does not back down from pushing Russiagate immediately, he will not be able to do so later. The fact that he has continued pushing it means he is complicit in the corporate silencing of Progressive media. The same media that hailed him in 2016 while corporate media conducted a complete blackout of his campaign unless to attack him. In other words, he has absolutely turned his back on the people who brought him to popularity and has fully embraced the Establishment narrative and corporate visibility.

At no time has Bernie broken with the Establishment narrative to suggest diplomacy with Russia and decrease tensions.

Julian Assange. The fact is, you cannot support both Bernie and Julian Assange. They are diametrically opposed. Bernie pushes Russiagate, which implicates Assange. Bernie has remained as silent on Assange as he has about election fraud in 2016. Which makes him complicit in the attacks on Assange.

Loyalty. Some claim that in 2016 he kept a commitment. A candidate’s commitment should be to the people that supported him, that donated their money, time and effort to promote him. So yes, he kept his commitment, or rather revealed where his commitment truly resides. With the Establishment he claims to oppose.

Bernie lost no pay or benefits. Something should be noted here. Bernie never lost his job, his income or his health insurance as a result of the 2016 election. Over 7 million have lost health insurance in 2 years. Hundreds of thousands have lost jobs and/or been forced to take even lower wages than they were earning even in 2016.

Sanctions. Bernie has openly promoted sanctions on numerous occasions. I have detailed on numerous occasions that sanctions kill. Sanctions are acts of war. More so when not approved by the UNSC. Not only that but sanctions impact industries and economies of our allies. They decrease trade in those allied countries. They cause dissent with those allies which will only grow worse as long as we continue imposing unilateral sanctions on other countries. Bernie has not suggested even lifting sanctions which do not have UNSC approval, he has supported unilaterally imposed sanctions by the US Empire.

Drones. Bernie has publicly supported US drone strikes in other countries. While drone strikes reduce the physical risk to US personnel, they still cause massive loss of innocent lives and PTSD for drone pilots. Not to mention the fact that the average cost of a missile launched from a drone is $80,000, which does not include the cost of the drone, itself.

Independent media. I mentioned above that his 2016 campaign was a major impetus for the rise of independent media. However, it was not the only thing which drove that rise. Independent media was already in existence and increasing in popularity before 2016. His campaign accelerated that rise and drove the motivation for new voices, including my own to a point. On the other hand, he has not exactly been a staunch supporter on social media. Jimmy Dore is a very strong public fan of Bernie’s who has invited Bernie on his show numerous times. Bernie has not only not accepted the offer but last I heard had not even responded to the invitation. RT was the only major broadcast channel to cover his 2016 campaign yet Bernie did not accept invitations to appear on RT, either. Some shows such as TYT claim to be Progressive but are actually known neoliberal sources that support the DNC blindly and spout Russiagate as frequently as Rachel Maddow. If he appeared on those shows and not Jimmy Dore or Thom Hartmann, that says a lot in and of itself. Though Thom endorsed Hillary, which should not be forgotten.

It is not 2020. I’ve pointed this out before and do so again. It is not 2020 yet. 2020 is still 10 months away. To fervently adopt a candidate with no room allowed for questioning is not making an informed choice. It is an emotional fixation, nothing more. Too many people are turning this into nothing short of a religion. There is little or no objective, rational thinking involved in such a decision.

So, I expect a lot of hate messages over this. Do your worst. It’s really nothing I have not suffered through by Hillary or Trump supporters. You can try and tell yourself you’re different but when you support one candidate without waiting for debates, not waiting for policies to be laid out, remain blind to the dangers and even accept those dangers willingly, you are no different at all. Look in the mirror and accept that. You have become the very thing you once raged against.

Russiagate Weakens This Country (And Is A Sign Of Weak Minds)

I’ve been following Russiagate since it’s inception in July of 2016. There was no valid evidence then. Two years later, there is still no evidence, even as rumblings say that Mueller is about to end his farcical “investigation” that never examined the DNC servers, where the allegations first began.

Seriously, what investigation never examines the alleged crime scene or summons the witnesses (Hillary, DWS, Donna Brazile, John Podesta) to testify under oath? That never asks the FBI why they never examined the servers?

In the 2 1/2 years since this began, we have watched the media, the DNC and DNC cultists try to resurrect McCarthyism in full force. Anyone who questions or does not march in lockstep with the DNC agenda is summarily convicted of being a Russian asset trying to destroy this country.

Progressive candidates. Russiagate is now being used to attempt to invalidate potential presidential candidates before the 2020 race begins. The Russian asset accusation has been leveled at Tulsi Gabbard, who is a US military veteran and has been in office for years. She stepped down from a DNC top position in 2016 due to improprieties in the DNC process which have since been proven absolutely true and in opposition to the democratic process. However, this is something of a matter of karma. She and Bernie Sanders have been vocal proponents of Russiagate and now it is biting them in the ass.

Who is doing the real damage? She is just one and this is not intended to be a list of names who face false accusations. This is about the damage that Russiagate, not Russia, does to our country. Because if you want to look at damage being done to our country, things which divide us, stop looking at Russia. The McCarthyite accusations do far more damage than Russia could ever hope to achieve if they had such an urge to do so.

Silencing of dialogue. One of the major goals of allegations of Russian alignment is the silencing of dialogue. There is no greater threat to democracy than the silencing of opposing voices or refusing to debate actual issues. Russiagate is being used as a “one size fits all” response to any dissenting opinion which does not fit the “authorized” narrative. Democracy itself is based on the ability of different voices to be heard. Yet the adherents of the Russia narrative use the accusation that some person or some viewpoint is dictated by Putin and no further discussion will be allowed.

Defensive posture. The expectation is that the voice being accused will be forced to go on the defensive to prove they are not a Russian asset in some way. Instead, the absolute best response to these accusations is no response at all. Stick to the issue being discussed and ignore that the accusation was ever made. Force the accuser to discuss the issue.

It doesn’t matter where discussion begins. Let’s make a really simple statement. Russia didn’t cause any of our problems. I have seen accusations that Russia is behind numerous issues in recent years. From Black Lives Matter to universal healthcare to ending warfare to defense spending that goes beyond any sense of reason. Election process and campaign spending. Taxation of the rich. These are real problems that deserve real debate, not false accusations in an attempt to make it seem as though the problem itself does not exist because some candidate, party or media source does not want to address it. So, even if there were any truth to the claim that attention to an issue began with Russia, discussion must begin somewhere. So the best response when someone says an issue came from Russia would be, “Who cares? Let’s talk about it any way.”

Defense spending. We always hear politicians and media pundits talking about “a strong defense” when discussing defense spending. I’ve pointed out before that when all is added together, we spend more on “defense” than every other country on earth combined. I have demonstrated that weapons sales to other countries cost us more money than they make. In only 2 years we have increased defense spending by over $90 billion every single year, with no reduction planned. Ever. Meanwhile we have Americans dying from lack of medical care, exposure from homelessness, suffering chronic health issues from poor nutrition. Suggest addressing those problems and face, “How are you planning to pay for that?” Talk about building or dropping more bombs and you never hear that question. Neither major party opposes spending more on “defense”. Neither one opposes regime change in practice. No corporate media outlet ever opposes the next war or the next or the next.

Weakened alliances. Russiagate has led this country to impose sanctions on other countries. Sanctions are never one sided. They work very much like the trade war affected US farmers. In the case of soybean farmers, China sanctioned us. When we sanction sales of goods to Russia, we punish their trading partners in other countries. Such as farmers in Europe. Or European people who must pay more for oil and gas which they cannot buy from Russia thanks to US Sanctions. Then we threaten our own allies if they choose to avoid sanctions which were never approved by the UNSC. All of this weakens our alliances with other countries, who are turning their backs on us more every day.

Taxing the rich. The media would have you believe that higher taxes on the rich is a Russian idea. First of all, try and explain how this would benefit Russia. It doesn’t. Then, try and explain why taxes on the rich in the US were highest at the height of the Cold War. Which aligns precisely with the time that the middle class had the most growth, the most wealth, the greatest benefits and the most bargaining power in the history of this country. Labor began losing all of this when taxes on the rich were decreased. Not to mention that ever since, small business has seen the highest rate of failure.

Increased wages. If you challenge someone to explain how increased wages in the US benefits Russia, I’d love to listen to their reply. In the same time frame I mentioned above, middle class wages in relation to cost of living were at their highest. Know what else was highest? Cost of production. Because Americans were paid well, had good benefits and taxes were high, cost of production was higher than ever. Yet the economy was doing extremely well. Our national debt was nowhere near as high. Business was expanding because markets were expanding or at least stable. So don’t blame Russia for corporate layoffs to preserve profits for stockholders. That is capitalism doing that.

Universal healthcare. The media and many politicians try to convince you that universal healthcare is a Russian concept. While Russia has universal healthcare, so does every other developed country other than the US. Every one of them has lower cost of care, lower rates of individual financial failure due to medical costs, longer life expectancy and higher quality of life. Since 2012, Mexico has had universal healthcare. Here? No. So try and explain how this is Russia’s fault. We had discussions about universal healthcare in this country in the early 90’s and that was not the first time. Did Russia incite those discussions then?

The real enemy. The real truth is that if Russia or any other opponent, be it a country or non-state power wanted to destroy us, they would be more effective doing so by increasing income inequality, destroying healthcare, increasing defense spending and dividing the populace against each other. Right now, all they have to do is sit back and watch this country implode.

The real enemy is here and has been here all along. The oligarchy, WAR Street is the enemy. They are destroying this country from the inside out and profiting every step of the way. Each time Americans tune in to corporate media, vote for corporate slave candidates, attack imaginary enemies that do not exist, promote Russiagate, refuse to focus on issues, cheer for corporate censorship, vocalize advocacy for wars we have no business in, endorse sanctions that backfire on us, allow our own people to die or go hungry, we are doing the job of any potential enemy, internal or external.
